You come here to see the ocean views, to admire the incredible nature and amazing temples, but you want to stay there because of the hospitality, smiles and absolutely brilliant food. Asian cuisine was a mystery for me as long as I can remember. And I am not even talking about distinguishing between the different national cuisines. All I knew was that there are noodles, spring rolls and sushi. In Thailand, hovewer, I discovered there´s a lot more to it, and that the food is actually much more diverse.  This is probably the most delicious (amd most spicy) curry I have ever had. I was worried that food in Thailand might be spicy, which would be a big issue for me, because I have zero tolerance towards spicy meals. Even BBQ sauce makes my mouth burn. Lucky for me, Thai people are used to tourists and when they see a white person, they go light on the chilli and spicy sauce. Switch to English Thajsko. Místo, kam jedete za mořem, neuvěřitelnou přírodou a nádhernými chrámy, ale kde byste nejradši zůstali kvůli pohostinnosti místních a naprosto geniálnímu jídlu. Asijská kuchyně mi dlouhou dobu splývala do jedné velké, nepřehledné hromady. Když se řeklo Asie, představila jsem si smažené nudle, jarní závitky a suši. Až v Thajsku jsem zjistila, že to asijské bistro na rohu, které dělá akorát nudle s gyrosem na milion způsobů, vlastně vůbec nereflektuje to, jak je asijská kuchyně pestrá a rozmanitá.  Nejlepší (ale nejpálivější) curry mého života jsem měla na ostrově Phi Phi u stylového Thajce s fialovými vlasy. Základem thajské kuchyně jsou nudle a rýže, to vše doplněné čerstvým exotickým ovocem, které tu roste na každém rohu. Bála jsem se, že bude jídlo v Thajsku pálivé, což by pro mě byl problém – mám absolutně nulovou toleranci vůči pálivému jídlu a pusa mi hoří i z BBQ omáček, které mají být spíše sladké než ostré. Přepnout do češtiny The Phi Phi islands are rightfully one of the most popular destinations in Thailand (and probably in all of South East Asia). In the Lonely Planet guide they describe this place as a hollywood star – partying every day until late night, but waking up fresh and beautiful again each morning. I couldn´t come up with a better comparison. Unfortunately, this lifestyle is taking its toll on Phi Phi and it´s hard to say how long it can keep up with this hectic tempo.  Today, I want to share with you everything I learned during our short stay on Phi Phi.
